Manchester
Manchester is regarded by many as the UK's "Second City". It is the second most visited city in the UK by foreign visitors.
In recent polls it was regarded as the best place in the UK to locate a business and that it is one of the world's fastest
growing cities economically.
Manchester was the world's first industrialised city and today is a leading centre for the Arts, Higher Education, Commerce
and Media.
The University of Manchester, Manchester Metropolitan University, and the Royal Northern College of Music, grouped
around the southern side of the City centre, forms one of Europe's largest higher education precincts, with close to
100,000 students.
Manchester United, possibly the world's biggest, and Manchester City, now possibly the world's richest, football clubs add
to the city's world renown.
