Earlier in 2009 a review of the Sustainability Appraisal for Nafferton was prepared in relation to the emerging Core Strategy and a 'call for sites' issued by the Council. A SHLAA (Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment) has been published which concludes.

1.1 The assessment has identified that the East Riding has 5.9 years of supply from sites with permissions and sites that have been released for development that will come forward in the first five years. This equates to 5,216 dwellings, only 3,520 of which could be built on brownfield land.

1.2 This leaves 12.1 years supply to be identified and provided, which is approximately 14,399 dwellings on 480 hectares of land (at 30 dwellings per hectare). The assessment of potential sites and unreleased allocations has shown that only 6,854 of these could be delivered on brownfield land. In the supply periods 6 to 10 and 11 to 18 years, extra sites will need to be identified. The SHLAA has shown that there is an abundance of sites that are, in theory, suitable, achievable and deliverable for these years of the plan in all the sub areas.

Our land at Nafferton is included within the above conclusion.
